Northern League, Divison Two

There’s still little to choose between Alnwick Town and Stokesley SC after this afternoon’s clash.

The teams went into the game level on points in the league, with Alnwick sixth from bottom, one place behind their opponents.

And the St James’ Park fixture ended honours even with a 1-1 draw.

Alnwick got off to a poor start in windy conditions and SCC went a goal up after about six minutes.

Town’s Chris Fawcett was booked not long before half-time and the first 45 minutes finished with the black n whites still to find the net.

But there was more for the fans to cheer about in the second half when James Jackson knocked in the equaliser.

Soon after, a shocking tackle on Jackson led to a yellow card.

Town are away to North Shields next Saturday.
