A north Northumberland grassroots football club has scored £5,000 funding, allowing it to expand opportunities for players and coaches in the area.
Lowick United FC netted the Grow the Game grant, from the Football Foundation.
It means the club’s Charter Standard-quality football development programme will be given the chance to grow.
Two new teams will be created over the next three years and new coaches will be trained to FA standard.
It will also help towards providing the infrastructure that is needed to make sure that children are given the best chance to develop their potential as players in a safe and structured learning environment.
Club secretary, Andy Thorpe, said: “We are excited and honoured that we have been recognised for our long history of great community work and that the Football Foundation has chosen us to receive this funding boost.
“This grant will enable Lowick United FC to offer enhanced development opportunities both in the area of playing and coaching for the young people of north Northumberland.”
