Tweedmouth Rangers 5 Shilbottle CW Reserves 1

North Northumberland League, Division Two

Shilbottle fell away badly in the later stages of this game at the Billendean, Spittal as Tweedmouth ran out comfortable winners in the end.

Following a fairly even opening period it was the Berwick side that took the lead after 10 minutes play.

The Reserves came more into the game as the half progressed and were unlucky not to draw level on the half hour as Kenny Collins put a good header just wide of the target.

Scott Muckle then brought a good save from the Berwick keeper as Shilbottle pressed for an equaliser.

Tweedmouth still lead by the only goal at the interval but the reserves hit back to draw level shortly after the the restart.

A good ball from Glen Robson found Michael Brown on the edge of the box and his well struck short found the back of the net.

Shilbottle were now in the ascendancy but a goal out of the blue put Tweedmouth back in front when a long range lofted ball found the top corner of the Shilbottle net.

Michael Brown almost put the Reserves level when a good effort was just tipped around a post buy the Rangers keeper.

Despite their effort Shilbottle could not force an equaliser and three late goals in the last five minutes of play by Tweedmouth gave them a comfortable victory.
