Morpeth Sunday League round-up

Division One

Amble Tavern cemented top spot on Sunday with their third win in a row, defeating Bedlington Barrington Arms 4-2.

Scoring for Amble were Liam Brooks (two) Matty Graham and Brett Robertson.

The Barrington goals were scored by Rob Eastway and Shaun Cowell.

In the only other Division One game, Ashington RAOB edged out The Wharton 2-1 thanks to efforts from Mark Race and Christopher Willis.

The Wharton reply came from Joe Moscrop.

Division Two

Ashington Conchie top the second division on goal difference after they recorded a 6-2 victory over The Elephant courtesy of braces from Michael Freathy, Lee Sparrow and Kevin Orkney.

On target for The Elephant were Sean Hudson and Joel Henderson.

Just behind Ashington are East Chevington, who maintained their 100 per cent start by running out 3-0 victors against Amble Blue Bell with goals from Adam Shanks, Peter Godfrey and Darren Smith.

North End Trap recovered from being 2-0 down at half-time against HMP Northumberland to record a fine 4-2 win. On target for North End were Josh Baston (two), Mark Mavin and Kevin Bell. The HMP goals came from Lee Hammond and Jason Singh.

In a high-scoring affair, Alnmouth Argyle defeated Amble Dock Hotel 12-4, with goals from Jordan Frost (four), James Dickson (three), Chris Chisholm, Kieran Cromertty, James Thorpe, John Barlow and Reece White.

The Amble replies were scored by Andy Metcalf (three) and Brad Little.

Finally in Division Two this week, Morpeth Shambles thrashed Village Inn Longframlington 18-0 with the scorers as follows: Ashley McAlpine (seven), Michael Gray (five), Lewis Nimmet (two), James Middlebrook (two), Mark Chapman and an own-goal.
