Cobras started slowest on their travels to Ashington on Sunday.

Within two minutes, they conceded their first goal with the help of some poor marking.

The visitors soon hit back when they were awarded a corner. Marco Makenley lost his marker and scored a good header (1-1).

Cobras started to dominate and it wasn’t long before they grabbed their second. Reece Graham played a lovely through-ball for Makenley to slot the ball into the bottom corner (1-2).

The visitors’ third came when Archie Smith won the ball in midfield and hit a 25-yard shot into the top corner (1-3).

Ashington got their second when their centre-forward beat two players down the left and shot a low ball past the keeper (2-3).

Cobras lifted their game and got their fourth. Cameron Atwell picked up the ball in midfield and beat three players and hit a low shot into the bottom corner for a great solo goal (2-4). Ewan Thorpe notched Cobras’ fifth when he slid the ball past the keeper (2-5).

Ashington had one chance when their centre-forward hit a 25-yard shot goalbound but a great save from Robbie Parker kept the score at 2-5.

The Alnwick side didn’t play at their best but are proving to be a tough side to beat.
