Lucy Bronze has been named in the England squad for Sunday’s A International against Sweden.

The Three Lions will host the Scandinavians at Hartlepool United’s Victoria Park ground.

Bronze, 22, who hails from Alnwick, has become a regular for the national side and the Liverpool Ladies defender and current PFA Women’s Player of the Year is looking forward to returning to the North East.

Sweden, ranked fifth in the world, are set to provide a decent challenge for England.

The match takes place ahead of England’s key World Cup qualifier against Wales at Cardiff City Stadium on Thursday, August 21.

The Lionesses need just a point to qualify for the finals which take place in Canada next summer.

England are training at St George’s Park, the Staffordshire-based national football centre, today and tomorrow, before travelling north for the Sweden clash.

Tickets for the game are on sale now priced £5 for adults and £2.50 for children. A family ticket (two adults and two children) is available at £10 and group-booking discounts apply.

Tickets can be purchased by calling 01429 272 584 (option 2), via TheFA.com’s ticketing page or at the Hartlepool United ticket office.
