Battling Amble pay the price as attack breaks down

Blackfyne U15...1 FC Amble Juniors U15...0

PINPOINT RECRUITMENT U15 DIVISION TWO

AMBLE went into their first league game in a while and had to travel to Blackfyne where they were expecting a tough game.

Blackfyne got a good start and Andy Flanighan had to tackle to prevent a one-on-one.

However, Amble soon got to grips with the game. First, Jason Imeson was on the end of Max Anderson’s throw before Callum Fenwick laid off Brad Little who put the ball just over the bar.

Jordan King and James Oliver linked up and the ball ended up at Brad Little’s feet again but this time the centre midfielder shot wide.

Max Anderson won a free kick and it was him who took it. His ball in was missed by everyone and the ball scrambled to Andy Flanighan whose shot was saved by the keeper’s leg. Amble were again on the attack.

James Aston and Callum Fenwick linked up well before Jason Imeson’s shot was saved by the keeper.

Jason Imeson put the ball in the back of the net after James Oliver put in a good ball, however it was ruled offside by the linesman.

Blackfyne eventually tested the Amble goal. After some good football a shot was put over after good pressure from Amble’s defenders.

The half ended with Brad Little playing the ball out wide to Max Anderson whose curling shot went just wide which summed up Amble’s first half, they just couldn’t put the ball in the back of the net.

The second half started with Max Anderson playing the ball to Jordan King who cut in and put the ball over the bar.

James Oliver then played the ball to Max Anderson whose shot went just over onto the roof of the net.

Amble were constantly attacking and nearly paid the price. A swift counter attack from the home side led to a one-on-one and if it wasn’t for a great save from Jake Aldworth then the visitors would probably have been one down.

A terrific James Oliver corner was met by Jason Imeson whose header would have ended up in the back of the net if he wasn’t put off-balance.

Then Amble did pay the price. Their next attack broke down and on the counter Jake Aldworth came out and made a good tackle out his box but it fell perfectly to the striker who couldn’t miss.

In the final five minutes, Max Anderson had two shot which both went over and then Brad Little shot just over in the dying few seconds.
