Bamburgh stay kings of the castle

North Northumberland League round-up
Division Two

Shilbottle CW Res 0

Bamburgh Castle 3

The home team created few chances during this game with their best chance to take the lead coming after 30 minutes when they were awarded a penalty but missed from the spot. League leaders Bamburgh made them pay five minutes later when Gareth McCann gave the visitors the lead and on 40 minutes, Johnny Johnson netted a second for Bamburgh.

In the second half, Shilbottle continued to press without really troubling Bamburgh and, on 60 minutes, Dan Johnson netted a third goal for Bamburgh to seal the win.

Craster Rovers 0

Tweedmouth Rangers 3

In very windy conditions, it was the visitors who came away with the win that keeps them well in contention at the top of the division.

Tweedmouth led by a single goal from Peter McAskill at half-time and wrapped up the win in the second half with a second for McAskill and a goal from Craig Colouhoun.

All other games were postponed.
