FC Amble Juniors have been crowned champions of U16 Division Two in the Pin Point Recruitment Junior Football League.

The Seasiders clinched the trophy in the most dramatic of circumstances, with the championship going down to the wire and finishing just one point ahead of rivals Prudhoe.

A 2-1 victory over Newcastle City Juniors on May 12, with goals from Ali Batey and Ronan Straughan, kept the side’s title hopes alive.

And Amble secured first place a week later, without having to kick a ball.

With an hour to go before their must-win match with North Shields, the Tyneside outfit conceded, handing the all-important three points to Amble, and with it, the title.

The divisional trophy capped off a tremendous season for this talented young side.

The Amble boys were very consistent in what is a very competitive division, and got what they deserved in the end.

Thanks to all the parents for their continued support, as well as Amble and Warkworth Rotary Club, who have supported the club financially over the last two years providing home and away strips.
