Amble lads go nap in a convincing White-wash

Pin Point Junior League U12

Amble travelled to Whitley Bay and brought home the points with a hard-working performance on a heavy pitch.

Amble came straight out of the blocks and put the home side under a lot of pressure, but, despite making chances, it took them 15 minutes to go ahead.

M Kerr was put straight through with a neat flick from E Bell and he coolly rounded the keeper before slotting into the empty net (0-1).

With their tails now up, Amble soon added another when a perfectly-weighted through-ball from captain R Paton sent E Bell through and he turned inside and curled a great strike into the far corner (0-2).

Amble added a third shortly before half-time when M Kerr once again went around the keeper to send his team 3-0 up at the interval.

Amble came out for the second half and took over from where they had left off.

They could have extended their lead only to see two efforts come back off the woodwork.

Despite this, they continued to push forward and M Kerr was rewarded with his hat-trick after good work in the midfield between D Tailford and R Brayson sent him through to finish neatly again (0-4).

Amble continued to keep things tight at the back with J Belisle, R Paton, M Kemp, J Stewart and T Mitchell snuffing out any forays that the home side made.

With full-time looming, Amble completed the scoring when E Bell raced through and slid the ball past the home keeper, who had played well and kept the score down as best he could (0-5).

Spurrelis man-of-the-match: Matthew Kerr. Many thanks to Simon and Louise Little who very kindly sponsored the match.
