Alnwick Town 2 Tow Law Town 3

Despite leading twice, Alnwick Town slumped to defeat against 10-man Town Law Town this afternoon.

They went ahead through a Bryan Murray headed corner in this Northern League, Division Two encounter before being pegged back by a goal scored with a spectacular overhead kick.

It was deadlock at 1-1 at half-time.

After the break, came what seemed to be the turning point as a visiting defender was adjudged the last man when he gave away a penalty and was sent off.

The spot-kick was dispatched by Tony Brown, who sent the keeper the wrong way.

But Tow Law came back with two goals of their own to take all three points.

Brown almost rescued a point towards the end when he smashed against the crossbar, but it wasn’t to be.
