Cyrus scares opposition

TEENAGE boxing talent Cyrus Pattinson has progressed to the quarter-finals of the National Junior ABA Championships.

Because of the Alnwick lad’s ever-growing reputation, it is difficult to match the 18-year-old against other opponents in the North East, as he is known as a real prospect and certainly one to be avoided.

And this was confirmed at the weekend, as there were no entrants in his class, with potential fighters either moving into another weight division or not entering at all.

It means that he is now the Tyne Tees and Wear Junior ABA champion at 71kg and he progresses to the last eight of the competition in Manchester at the end of April.
