A SPORTING club is holding a trial event to get more people involved.
Alnwick Triathlon Club is hosting Tri Something New, an informal event giving people the opportunity to learn a little more about the sport of triathlon, while meeting some of the current members of Alnwick Tri who will share their own story of why they first gave it a ‘tri’ and why they are still ‘tri-ing’.
It will be held on Thursday, April 19, at 8.30pm at Willowburn Leisure Centre in Alnwick.
Jock Bolam, chairman of Alnwick Tri, said: “Triathlon is a fantastic sport, but it can appear a little intimidating.
“We wanted to hold an event in a relaxed environment where anyone can come along and learn a little bit about what triathlon is, and at the same time demonstrate that triathlon has something for all abilities.
“The only physical exercise that we will be doing on the night will be drinking tea and eating cake, so even if you’re not sure whether triathlon is for you, we would encourage you to come along and ‘Tri Something New’.”
