Alnwick and Amble both feature

Alnwick Sea Angling Club – Sunday, February 2

A calmer sea this week saw fewer fish caught, however, for those that found the fish, there were some good bags weighed in.

Mickey Buck won the match with three cod and a flounder for 10lb 11½oz, only narrowly beating Willy Morton, who was second with five cod for 10lb 10½oz. Willy also had the heaviest fish, a cod of 5lb 2oz.

Third was Steve Scott, again fishing consistently, weighing in three cod for 7lb 8oz.

Other anglers weighing in were: Ian Hall, one cod, 2lb 10oz; Antony Abbott, one cod, 1lb 15oz; Clive Miller, one cod, 1lb 2oz; Kevin Donnelly, one flounder, 11½oz.

Sunday, February 9

A few fish caught this week after a strong westerly winds flattens the sea.

Anthony Gibbison won the match with two codling for 3lb 9oz and second was Clive Miller with one cod for 3lb 6oz, which was also the heaviest fish.

The only other angler to weigh in was Daniel Frater, fishing as a guest, who had one cod for 1lb 7½oz.

The presentation evening will now be held on Saturday, March 29.

Ken’s birthday bash results: Norman Nyberg, two flats, 1lb 5ozs; Fin Griffiths (jnr), one flat, 11.5ozs; Bill Griffiths, one flat, 10.5ozs; Norma Urwin (L), one flat, 13.5ozs; Josh Middlemist (jnr), two flats, 1lb 3ozs; Ken middlemist, four flats, 2lb 3.5ozs; Zac Aynsley, two flats, 1lb 4.5ozs; Ian Harrogate, one cod, 1lb 9¾ozs; Gordon Fairley, three flats, 2lb 6ozs; Ross Taylor (jnr), one flat, 8ozs; Darren Taylor, two cod, 3lb¾ozs.

Heaviest flat: Gordon Fairley, 1lb 4ozs. Heaviest round fish: Darren Taylor, 1lb 15ozs.

A total of 39 people fished, 11 people weighed in, there was a buffet and drinks in the Radcliffe Club afterwards and a good day was had by all.
