Alnwick Sea Angling Club

With a dying southerly sea, conditions were again good for cod and most anglers managed to catch. Cod were caught from all along the coast.

Ian Hall won the match with four cod for 9lb 9oz, which also included the heaviest fish of 3lb 13oz. Kevin Donnelly also had a cod of 3lb 13oz. Second was Anthony Gibbison with five cod for 8lb 2½oz.

Other anglers weighing in were: Patrick Porteous, three cod, 6lb 2½oz; Kevin Donnelly, two cod, 4lb 14½oz; John Stephenson, one cod, two coalies, 4lb 10oz; Willy Morton, two cod, 4lb 1½oz; Andrew Stanton, three cod, 3lb 14½oz; Antony Abbott, one cod, 1lb 15oz; Steve Ayling, one cod, 1lb 15oz; Darren Ferrow, one coalie, 1lb 10½oz; Steve McKee, one cod, 1lb 4oz; Mickey Buck, one cod, 1lb 2½oz; Steve Scott, one cod, 1lb 2oz.

Steve Ayling had a good result in the morning when he fished the Newbiggin Open and caught the second heaviest fish, a cod of over 5lb.

Amble Sea Angling

Results for Sunday: Joseph Gair (J) one bass, 1lb 8¾oz; Ian Harrogate (open comp) two codling, 2lb 3½oz. This Sunday is round one of the club singles. Fishing back to 4.30-9.30pm until Christmas.
