Amble Sea Angling Club

Results: Sunday – Tony Cook, seven codling, 11lb 7½oz; Kevin Rutherford, four codling, 6lb 3½oz; Darren Taylor, three codling, 4lb 5¼oz; Les Weller, three codling, 3lb 10¾oz; Ian Harrogate, three codling, 3lb 5¾oz; Ken Middlemist, two codling, 3lb 0½oz; Colin Dawson, one codling, one flounder, 2lb 5¼oz; George Spuhler, one codling, 1lb 9¾oz; Zac Aynsley, one codling, 1lb 6oz; Ian Stewart, one flounder, 14¾oz.

Heaviest fish: Tony Cook, 3lb 7oz. Heaviest flatfish: Ian Stewart, 14¾oz.

The match on Sunday is from 9am to 1pm, alongside the Newbiggin Open. Weigh-in at Amble until 1.30pm.

Alnwick Sea Angling Club

The first match of the winter season on Sunday, October 6, was a promising start with several cod weighed in.

The winner of the match was Steve McKee with three cod for 3lb 8½oz, second was George Hornsby one cod, 3lb 4oz which was also the heaviest fish.

Other anglers weighing in were Mickey Buck, one cod, one flounder 2lb 11oz, Steve Scott, one cod one flounder, 2lb 2oz, Darren Ferrow, one cod, one flounder 1lb 12oz, Kevin Donnelly, one cod, 1lb 9oz, Clive Miller, one coalie, 1lb 4oz, William Morton, one cod, 1lb 3oz, Roberto Peruzzo, one cod, 1lb ½oz.

The second match on Sunday saw improved conditions with a nice north easterly sea running.

Most anglers managed to catch and good numbers of small codling were weighed in.

Andrew Stanton made a good return to the club and won the match with three cod for 9lb 12oz, which also included the heaviest fish a cod of 5lb 2oz, second was Anthony Gibbison with five cod for 9lb 3oz.
