Bamburgh Castle (126-3) v Percy Farmers (67-9)

Bamburgh came out on top by 59 runs in a 15-over match against their good friends Percy Farmers on Vice-President’s Day last Thursday. Openers Stuart Tiffin and Mike Threllfell amassed 76 runs in 10 overs before they both retired, Tiffin with 22 from 27 balls including two fours and Threllfell with a hard-hitting 51 off 28 balls including four sixes and four fours. Phil Grey took the only other wicket for figures of 1-12. When the Farmers batted they never recovered from losing Ian Pearson for one and were really struggling on 29-7 before J Patterson and Tom Vickers added a further 30 runs before both were out with the total on 59. Pick of the bowlers was Andrew Wright with 4-10. A barbecue donated by R Carter and Son butchers followed.
