BOXING: April will pack a punch with two fight nights

Have your say

Next month will certainly pack a punch, with two showcases of boxing being staged in Alnwick.

On Thursday, April 3, the Hadston-based North Northumberland Amateur Boxing Club presents its annual fight night.

The event, which is normally staged in December, will take place at Willowburn Sports and Leisure Centre.

The action-packed bill will feature a select team from Scotland and boxers from closer to home, including former Northumberland Gazette Sports Personality of the Year winner, Cyrus Pattinson.

Doors open at 7pm, with boxing starting at 8pm.

Tickets are £12 and are available from the sports centre or the club in advance, or on the door.

This fight feast will be followed by Alnwick Amateur Boxing Club’s home show on St George’s Day, Wednesday, April 23.

Held in the Alnwick Garden Pavilion, it will feature the club’s boxers, as well as competitors from Scotland, the North East and West.

Ring-side VIP tables of 10 are £150, while standard entry is £12. Doors open at 7pm. Tickets available from the club between 6pm and 7pm, Monday to Friday, or call 07738 364349.
