Friendly: Bamburgh Castle (89 all out) beat Tillside (88 all out) by one run
Batting first on a damp wicket, Bamburgh’s innings stuttered along, losing wickets at regular intervals and they were bowled out for a lowly 89.
Only three batsmen reached double figures. Michael Kirkup was the top-scorer with 21.
Tillside used 10 bowlers and the wickets were shared between seven of them. Both Jack Bagness and Michael Caddick finished on 2-11.
Tillside found the run chase tough, slipping to 49-8 after 19 overs. But a stand of 39 between Peter Thomas (22) and Michael Caddick (19) took Tillside within two runs of victory with two overs left, but both batsmen were dismissed within three balls to give Bamburgh an unlikely win.
Bamburgh bowled well, especially Andrew Wright (3-19) and Steve Mallinson (4-17).
