Malcolm Cresswell, this year’s captain at Bamburgh Castle Golf Club, has nominated the Bell View Centre in Belford as his charity.

He visited the centre to present Christine Harris, the chairman of the trustees, a first cheque for £400.

Malcolm said: “I’m delighted to give this first payment to Bell View as I know it does an excellent job of supporting and enabling older people to live independently by offering a special level of care.

“And, of course, the centre itself is a valuable resource for Belford.”
