Winter League (Week Four): Benign weather and the great condition of the course was reflected in high scores. Steadily progressing from 20th in week one to seventh and fourth in weeks two and three, Kevin Murphy topped the lot in week four with 42pts. Second and third places were decided on countback, with both Ritchie Robson and Alan Dodd scoring 40pts. Five players all scored 39pts, but countback gave Wayne Belisle fourth place. A moderate payout in the twos – Alan Dodd, Barry Farrar and Connor Thompson at the 2nd, Michael Bell at the 4th and Alan Craigs and Chris Jobson at the 15th. By virtue of his improving scores, Murphy heads the Zecca Accumulator with 116pts from Peter Lewis on 115. Two players, Belisle and Eric Johnson, share third on 113. Finally, Murphy tops the Easyway Order of Merit with 31pts followed by Belisle on 24 and Cyril Jobson on 20.

Winter League: Geoff Brown came out on top in the third round of the Henry Curry Winter League on 18 points ahead of Chris Wilkinson on 17. Dave Hall leads overall on 22 ahead of Geoff Brown and Steve Fletcher who are both on 18.
Last Sunday saw 31 gents travel to Foxton Hall for the first winter outing. Winner was Gordon Lamb on 40 points ahead of Chris Wilkinson on 38 on a countback from Steven Lamb also on 38. Many thanks to Foxton Hall for their hospitality and the excellent quality of the course. The Wooler Golf Club agm takes place on Thursday, December 5, at 7.30pm in the clubhouse. In the event of bad weather it will take place in the Angel Inn in Wooler. Please see the noticeboard for details of committee requirements.
