Whittle Trophy: A fine but breezy day gave local football star Michael Straker the chance to showcase his golf skills and he did to great effect to take the Whittle Trophy. His nett 64 was a full five shots clear of John Forsyth and J Stone with the back nine splitting the placings of their nett 69s. A long time since either John went that low, but a welcome three Pentas. There were 2s for Johnny ‘Matalan’ Morton, Paul Forester, R Graham Sawley and Dave Arkley.

The Rosebowl Medal: Was won with a nett 73 by the in-form Lillian Langlands from a resurgent Kathleen Dalby by two shots with Margaret Johnson and Lovaine Wraith another two back on 77.

John Angus Trophy: Finally, the two in-form juniors had another head-to-head when Daniel Cooke beat off the challenge of Freddie Bremner to take the coveted John Angus Trophy.
