The Electic was held by Charlie Brown, Geoff Dunn and Bill Laidlaw until Ken Bailey jigged to a birdie on the penultimate hole to take a share as well. A very successful end to a great tournament, with the winning score 29 points for all four golfers. The day after saw the biggest field of the year with 78 golfers after the prizes and boy did some groups get their money’s worth over their five-hour rounds. It was Dave Parker who was last in, but first on the sheet with a brilliant nett 68, this also gave him the Past Captains Cup as well. Second was Mark Shone sitting a shot shy, (to be said when sober), and another shot away was Steve Lamb on nett 70. Continuing his breakout season was Daniel Cooke in fourth also a shot away. Ross Gair won the longest drive with his Donnay platinum on the 13th and Davy Brunt won the West Bromwich and District prize for nearest the pin.
