Bruce Crombie won his third fell race of the summer, the Falstone Falcon Fell Race on Saturday.
After his recent successes in the Great Hetha and Forestburn Fell Races, Bruce easily won this 4.9-mile race with 750 feet of ascent. Fellow Harrier Kim Bronze also took part.
Also that day, Danny Richardson was top Harrier in the North East Parkruns, finishing 5th at Whitley Bay. Danny finished the 5k in 18.56.
Meanwhile at Newcastle, six Harriers were in action, with the highlight being Sue Bolam finishing first in the female 45 category.
Results: 77-Phil Baston 21.43; 121-Lisa Williams 23.12; 123-Sue Bolam 23.14; 130-Charlotte Baston 23.24; 161-Phil Lee 24.25; 189-Denise Drummond 25.21.
Back on Wednesday, August 21, Mark Doctor was in action in the Keswick AC-organised 8.8km Round Latrigg Fell Race.
The race is run under fell-racing rules, however there’s only about one mile of proper fell running with the rest including a two-mile uphill drag along a farm track and paths, and a fast and flat two miles along a disused railway line.
Mark was 111th of the 168 finishers in 44.34, eight seconds slower than the same race last year.
