Alnwick and Amble both feature

Alnwick Sea Angling Club

With good seas running for most of the week, and reports of decent catches of cod being made, hopes were high for Sunday’s match.

Although the seas had dropped off, this did not affect the results.

There were some excellent catches with some better quality fish being caught.

Mickey Buck won the match with a cracking bag of seven cod for 24lb 9oz, Andrew Stanton was second with another excellent bag of seven cod and a coal fish for 20lb 7oz, the coal fish was a quality fish of 2lb 5oz, third was Steve Scott with a good bag of four cod for 11lb 6oz.

Steve McKee made the right decision to move during the match and was rewarded with the heaviest fish, a good-conditioned cod of 7lb 4oz.
