THERE was a better chance of some cod this week with a nice northerly swell bringing some colour to the water.

Anthony Gibbison won the match with two cod for 10lb 2oz, only narrowly beating Kevin Donnelly, who had a superb conditioned cod of 10lb ½oz, which was also the heaviest fish of the match. Third was Steve Scott who also had a good cod of 7lb 12½oz.

Other anglers weighing in were John Stephenson, two cod, 4lb 14½oz; Steve Ayling, one cod, one coal fish, 3lb 15oz; Dave Moss, one flounder, 14½oz.

Next week’s match which will be fished on Tuesday, is the Mick Hayes Memorial. Registration is between 3pm and 3.30pm and fishing between 4pm and 10pm.
