ANGLING

Alnwick Sea Angling Club

WITH flat seas again on Sunday and fishing conditions not ideal, it was more difficult for anglers to catch cod.

However, Ian Hall continued with his consistent form and managed to win the match with a good-sized cod of 7lb 10oz which was not only the heaviest fish of the match but also of the season so far.

There was also an unusually large number of coal fish caught this Sunday, most however were just undersize but some were large enough to weigh in.

Other anglers weighing in and full match results: Ian Hall, one cod, 7lb 10oz; Anthony Gibbison, three coalfish, 3lb 14oz; Antony Abbott, two coalfish, 1lb 14oz; Steve McKee, one cod, 1lb 9oz; Steve Scott, one coalfish, 1lb 2½oz; Kevin Donnelly, one coal fish, 1lb ½oz.
