Amble Sea Angling Club

SUMMER open results – Top weights: Jimmy Dunn, (Burradon), five fish, 13lb 2.25oz; Colin Bell, (Whitley Bay), three, 11lb 0.5oz; Chris Potts, (Gosforth), six, 10lb 3oz; M Garbutt, (Whitby), five, 10lb 1.5oz; Gav Owen, (Whitley Bay), three, 9lb 12oz; Paul Gebbie, (Ashington), five, 9lb 11.75oz; Steve Williams, three, 9lb 10.25oz; Paul Buddles, (Alnwick), two, 8lb 8.25oz; G Appleton, four, 8lb 5.25oz; Scott Davidson, two, 6lb 15.5oz.

Heaviest fish (all cod): Paul Buddles, 5lb 10oz; Jimmy Dunn, 5lb 0.25oz; Colin Bell, 4lb 7.25oz.

Heaviest flat fish: T Cook, (Amble), 12.25oz; N Urwin, (Amble), 10.75oz; K Mitford, (Amble), 10oz.

Ladies winner: Norma Urwin, 1lb 2.25oz.

Seventy five anglers fished, 25 weighed in 58 fish for 137lb 13.5oz.

The club thanked all who turned up and the tackle shops for selling tickets and donating junior prizes.

Unfortunately, no juniors weighed in, so the prizes will be held over for the 2012 Amble Open. The rod and reel prize, donated by Garry at Anglers United, Lynemouth, was awarded to young Gordon Holland, who did manage to land and return a turbot of 32cms.
