A veteran motorcycle racer from Shilbottle, who has competed on high-powered machines since the 1970s, has had another successful season, clinching a series of titles.

Delighted John Andrucci bounced back from a slow start to the campaign, which was dogged by mechanical problems and bouts of bad luck, to record two championship wins.

He was racing his post-classic machines in both the North East Motorcycle Racing Club and Knockhill Sporting Club.

The self-employed van driver fought hard during the whole season to win the championships again this year. He appeared on television several times during the course of the season.

Andrucci also secured two championship third places in the Melville Motor Racing Club with some strong performances in both the open and club-post classic championships.

Andrucci would like to thank Andrucci Van and Man Hire and John Mac Tuning for their support and assistance during the season.

He has also told that Gazette that anyone who would like to help him in challenging for the 2015 championship can contact him on 07921 622626 to discuss opportunities.
