ALNWICK and Boulmer Netball Club recorded their first loss of the season against Croftway A at home last Wednesday night.

From the first whistle, the players were evenly matched and there was nothing to separate the sides at the end of the first quarter with the score tied 8-8.

Alnwick and Boulmer picked up the pace in the second quarter and displayed excellent attacking and defending skills to go up 17-12 at half-time.

Croftway fought back and caught Alnwick slightly off guard.

The away team clawed back the goal difference but the Alnwick side was still up by 25-22 going into the final quarter.

Croftway fought hard and made several key interceptions, which knocked the Alnwick side off-balance.

The final quarter was closely fought but Croftway outplayed the Alnwick side and secured a narrow victory by one goal.

The final score was 35-34 to Croftway A.

Alnwick and Boulmer train every Wednesday at Willowburn Leisure Centre from 7pm-8pm. All players are welcome to join the team.
