HIGH winds last Friday caused Alnwick Harrier Andy Squires to cancel his trip south to visit family, which allowed him to run the last Harriers league meeting on Saturday at Prudhoe on a tough five-mile course.
Andy was Alnwick's first counter backed up with a fine run from Graham Syers, (medium pack), Jim Lillico, Ian Simom, Richard Agan and Stuart Carter packed well to make up Alnwick's counters with Peter Grey also well-placed.

Alnwick's score was just enough to keep them in Division One. They fielded 15 runners on the day.

Team spokesman John Cockburn was delighted with the result and support he has received during the cross country season.

Results: A Squires 35-39s; G Syers 3 5-57m; J Lillico 36-08s; I Simon 36-19m; R Agan 36-27m; S Carter 36-35s; P Grey 37-07m; N Craigs 37-23m; M Henry 37-27s; D Lowe 38-17s; S Cook 38-30m; J Cockburn 40-52s; J Kay 41-17s; C Atwell 11-20s; P Jackson 41-58s.
