Northern Alliance, Division Two (Saturday, October 4 2008)
AMBLE United made it six wins out of seven to remain three points ahead of the field in Division Two of the Northern Alliance League.

They took the game to their visitors Hexham from the off, putting their defence under all sorts of pressure, but could not put their chances away.

But in the 18th minute, Chris Moffitt fired home from 25 yards to start the ball rolling.

Amble continued to play some very good football and created chance after chance and increased their lead on the stroke of half-time when Darren Riddell headed home a Chris Moffitt cross from the right to make it 2-0 at the break.

Amble got the game under way after the interval and went three up in the 58th minute when Chris Moffitt fired home a free-kick from the left and found the bottom right-hand corner of the net, giving Sean Heads in the Hexham goal no chance.

Paul White headed home to make if four before, in the 70th minute, Chris Moffitt completed his hat-trick after Brad Wake was upended in the box and he dispatched the penalty.

Amble continued to play very good football and scored again in the 89th minute when Ronnie Warwick sent Darren Riddell through with a good ball. Darren put his shot into the bottom left-hand corner for his second to make the final score 6-0.

It was another good team performance to maintain their fine start to the season.

Pier 81 man-of-the-match: Chris Moffitt.

Match sponsor: Kelly Construction, Master Builders.
