Amble gained a valuable point against fourth placed Jesmond in a Monday evening fixture at the Welfare Park.
The Seasiders were unfortunate not to take all three points but manager Ryan Jobson would have settled for a draw prior to the game.
"We should have scored more goals tonight but some of our players had tired legs in the closing stages. This was a commendable result given the number of games some of the lads are currently playing, " he said.
The Seasiders opened the scoring after 10 minutes when Scott Sherrington broke down the wing and cut through to curl the ball past visiting keeper Peter Holland.
The homeside maintained pressure throughout the opening period and had several opportunities to increase the lead as Cory Robertson, Ben Davidson, Declan Armstrong and Sherrington dominated midfield.
David Robinson led the homeside attack with another welcome return alongside the experienced Carl Scott. Sherrington increased the lead following another quick break to give the homeside a two goal lead at the interval.
Jesmond came back into the game during the game and scored a goal through Peter Brand. The visitors levelled the scores in controversial circumstances after 80 minutes with Amble having strong claims for a free kick. Homeside defender Michael Straker was clearly fouled from behind and Andrew Wilson finished from close range.
The Seasiders looked certain to take all three points as Sherrington again raced through but was cynically brought down from behind on the edge of the box. Peter Laws received a straight red card for the offence but the resulting free kick was scant consolation for the homeside.
