Northern Alliance, Premier Division (Saturday, October 11 2008)
ALNWICK Town recorded their first win in three matches with a fine 4-0 triumph over newly-promoted Murton.

It was Town's third home win of the season as the St James' Park side avenged a 2-1 cup defeat against the County Durham outfit.

Goals from Craig Henderson, Scott McMullen, Richard Brown and an own goal from Murton's Andrew Upperton bagged the points for Alnwick, who stay fifth.

Murton dropped to fifth from bottom and the defeat means that last year's Division One runners-up have lost all six away games this season.

Alnwick turn their attention to the cup on Saturday when they travel to Newcastle University in the first round of the Longhorn Hardware Stan Seymour League Cup.

Town have already beaten the University this year – a 3-1 league win at St James' Park.
