Northern Alliance, Premier Division (Monday, April 21, 2008).
A BRACE from Tom Vickers and a cool finish from Gavin Keen guided Alnwick to their second successive league victory.

The St James' Park triumph also enabled Town's long-serving chief, Mac Belisle, to celebrate his last ever home game in style.

Alnwick opened the scoring in the 10th minute thanks to Keen. Polish ace Mati Halambiec pushed a through ball in to the path of Keen and the right midfielder kept his head to slot past Shaun Blackhouse in the Heaton goal.

Town doubled their lead after 30 minutes in stunning style. A long ball was flicked on by Halambiec and Vickers, taking the ball under control with his knee, riffled in a volley from 25 yards.

The hosts led 2-0 at the break but they added to their tally in the 67th minute. Hitman Vickers made it four goals in two games, tapping in from close range.
The win takes Town to 24 points and sees the north Northumberland side avenge a 5-0 defeat against Heaton earlier in the season.

Speaking after the game, Mac Belisle beamed: "It's nice to finish off with a win and it's great to see all the lads smiling again.

"There's a great side here and I think next season there should be some silverware here. I wish the lads all the best."
