Durham & Northumberland Division One (Saturday, November 8 2008).
ALNWICK won their fourth league game of the season with a 16-6 home triumph over Ashington.

The Greensfield side took the honours in the Northumberland derby clash thanks to a fine kicking display from James Robson who scored 11 points.

Robson impressed with the boot, grabbing a goal and three penalties.

But it was the visitors who took the lead. A penalty from Phillips put Ashington three points to the good.

Alnwick replied though thanks to Robson, levelling the scores, before Darren Oliver touched-down to put Alnwick 8-3 infront. Robson added the goal points to increase the host's tally to 10.

The blue 'n' golds went further ahead with two more penalties from Robson.

With Alnwick 16-3 up Ashington grabbed consolation penalty points through Phillips.

Alnwick stay sixth in the league. They travel to North East rivals Sunderland on Saturday. The Wearside outfit are currently bottom of the table, with one win and one draw to their name after eight league matches.
