Alnwick Sea Angling Club
ON Sunday, November 1, Alnwick Sea Angling Club fished their fifth winter league competition.

Conditions were good with a rough, southerly sea and expectations were high with good numbers of cod being caught from all around the region.
The winner
of the match was Steve Ayling, with a excellent catch of nine codling and two coal fish for a total weight of 21lb 1oz. Second was Anthony Gibbison with another good bag of eight codling for 12lb ½oz. Third was Andrew Stanton with five cod for 9lb 6oz.

Steve Scott had the heaviest fish with a nice cod of 5lb 3½oz.

Other anglers weighing in and full match results were: Steve Ayling, nine cod, two coalfish, 21lb 1oz; Anthony Gibbison, eight cod, 12lb ½oz; Andrew Stanton, five cod, 9lb 6oz; Steve Scott, two cod, 6lb 10½oz; Scott Howie, three cod, 4lb 5½oz; Paul Buddle, three cod, 4lb 5oz; Steve McK, two cod, 3lb 13½oz; John Stevenson, one cod, 3lb 13oz; Mick McMenamin, two cod, 3lb 6½oz; Antony Abbott, two cod, 2lb 12½oz; Mickey Buck, one cod, 1lb 12oz; Patrick Porteous, one cod, 1lb 8oz.

Results: C Taylor, four cod, 9lb 3.25oz; I Harrogate, three cod, two flats, 4lb 4oz; K Middlemist, one cod, one coalie, 3lb 7oz; R Henderson, two cod, 3lb 3.75oz; E Ide, two cod, 2lb 11oz; C Falkous, one cod, 1lb 15oz; T Cook, one cod, 1lb 3.25oz; M Airres, one cod, 1lb 1.5oz; R Gray, one cod, 15oz. Heaviest fish: C Taylor (cod) 4lb 3.5oz.

Heaviest flat: I Harrogate 6oz.
