ALNWICK RFC U11 finished a fantastic season by narrowly missing out on the final of the Alnwick tournament.
With a twist of fate, Alnwick, having been unbeaten, faced Pocklington RFC (the team Alnwick beat in the final last year) in the semi-final.

But the game ended with no tries to either side and Pocklington went through on score difference.

It
was the narrowest of margins with Pocklington just one try more than Alnwick in the tournament.

The final was held between Pocklington and Alnwick's old adversaries Ponteland.

It was great to hear the Alnwick team cheering on their old adversaries and emphasizes the good-natured sportsmanship that proliferates in the evolutionary stages of the game.

The final was decided by Ponteland's giant prop and gifted player Chick who powered through to make the deciding try.

Alnwick played Blaydon in the plate to decide third place. A tough battle but one that Alnwick was well equipped for, scoring five tries to nil.

This season has seen fantastic team and individual performances, thanks to the superb and dedicated coaching team of Steve Milling, Steve Nicholson, Fraser Scott and chief coach Stuart Nelson.

The players and parents wish to thank them for their commitment, dedication and determination.
