The Cancer Research UK event was due to take place in the town – starting and finishing in the Pastures and taking runners through Hulne Park – on September 7.
But race organisers were forced to pull the plug after severe flooding attacked the region.
However race chiefs have said that the fourth Alnwick run will still take place – but just not in Alnwick.
Flood damage on the original course has been so severe that organisers have had to find an alternative venue.
And it has been revealed that the event will now take place at
Exhibition Park, Newcastle, on Sunday, November 2, starting at 11am.
Andy Wilson, Run 10K event organiser said: "We're delighted that we have been able to secure a new venue and the run can now go ahead. Our thanks go to Newcastle City Council and the Freemen of Newcastle for their help in rescheduling the event.
"We are very sorry for any disappointment and inconvenience the postponement of this event caused, but we hope that people understand the course at Alnwick Castle was too unsafe to use."
More than 900 runners had signed up for the event and all the participants for the Castle run have got an automatic place on November 2. And there is now an opportunity for even more people to put their
best foot forward for charity.
Andy added: "The great news is that registration has also reopened for anyone who missed out first time around and the new venue is the perfect opportunity for first-time runners as the route is very flat."
