TWO members of Alnwick's Mixed Martial Arts Club won their fights at the 10th Cage Kombat.
Reivers Dave Brown and Ryan Copland both defeated their experienced opponents in the cage with determination and excellent technique.
The 16-fight event took place at the Dalkeith Miners Club, Dalkeith, Midlothian, Scotland, in front of a capacity audience.
DFM Reivers head coach Robert Currah said: "They did exactly what they were told to do and followed the game plan.
"The strategy worked and they fought to their capabilities and strengths and both put in 110 per cent into their fights.
"The game plan is very important when entering the cage as you have to have a clear strategy but be flexible enough to switch is if it's not working.
"With both the opponent fighters the best line the Reivers could take was to stay up right and weaken their opponents with leg kicks and punches – which both Reiver fighters did.
"Their vigorous training schedule and hard work they have both put in over the last three months meant they peaked just at the right time.
"They both put in every effort into both their training and their fights and we are all proud of them."
FULL FIGHT REPORTS
DFM Reiver Dave Brown v White Warrior Pawel Konopka, Semi-pro 90kg.
Round One - In the first round Dave dominated the fight with good leg kicks that were seeking to weaken his opponent. Then Dave took Pawel him down for some ground and pound. But Pawel showed he is a good technical fighter by reversing Dave with an arm-lock scissor sweep.
They were brought back up and Dave responded again with hard leg kicks and body shots. Round Two - Looking to punish Pawel's legs again Dave came straight back out, landing kicks to both Pawel's outer and inside thighs.
He followed this up with a Superman punch which rocked Pawel back onto his heals.
But Pawel recovered and returned fire, hitting Dave straight on the nose.
Eyes watering, Dave then slammed a powerful leg kick back in retaliation and then punched Pawel with a cross that knocked Pawel down.
After being counted back up by the referee and, after a further exchange of punches, Dave caught Pawel with a beautiful roundhouse kick that knocked him clean out.

DFM Reiver Ryan Copland v Alba Dornadair Simon White, Semi-pro 75kg
Round One: Simon came out throwing punches, jabs, hooks and few crosses which Ryan countered with good leg kicks to both inner and outer thigh.
After exchanges of kicks and punches, Ryan found a hole in Simon's guard and caught him with a left hook to the head. Simon then changed tactics and tried shooting in which Ryan countered with good sprawling technique and then attacking with good punching and leg kick combinations. Simon tried to throw back the same punishing leg kicks but didn't seem to be able to connect with Ryan.
Round two: In round two it was quickly apparent that Ryan's earlier leg kicks had weakened Simon as he changed into southpaw in a bid to protect his lead left leg.
Ryan, sensing this, began slamming kicks into Simon's right thigh, forcing him to change stance and then attacking the left limb again causing further damage. Simon threw a hook which Ryan ducked, coming up on the inside with a counter left hook that caught Simon clean and solid on his right eye, followed up with a right uppercut to the solar plexus knocking his opponent down. But game and spirited, Simon got back up and they exchanged a flurry of punches and kicks.
Then the referee stepped in stopping the fight.
Simon was dazed and bleeding heavily from an eye cut which had been opened by Ryan's earlier left hook. The doctor then advised the referee to stop the fight for medical reasons and Ryan won by TKO.
DFM Reiver MMA club member Ryan Copland won by Technical Knock Out.
