ALNWICK bowlers have had success in the bowling indoor season which has just ended.
John Hume a former winner of the Alnwick Club's Duke's Medal championship, who was runner-up last year, won the singles competition on the Concordia indoor rinks at Cramlington, beating Colin Cairns in the final 21-18.

Colin was the holder of the title and next year John will contest the county indoor champion of champions competition.

John, along with fellow Alnwick bowlers Roger Turnbull and Colin Cairns, also won the county indoor triples title, winning the final 19-10.

On the Berwick indoor rink at Bonarsteads, George Turner and Dougie Miller were runners-up in the pairs league.

Alnwick bowlers are reminded that the green will be opened by president Michael Inkster on Saturday at 2pm.
