RUNNERS will be putting their best feet forward for charity this Sunday at the re-arranged Alnwick Castle 10k run.
The Cancer Research UK event will take place at Exhibition Park, Newcastle, starting at 11am.

The fourth Castle challenge had been scheduled for Alnwick on Sunday, September 7 this year but the flash floods which hit Northumberland that weekend forced race organisers to pull the plug on the run.

And flood damage to the course – which started and finished in The Pastures and took runners through Hulne Park – meant that a new venue had to be found to stage the race.

Sunday's course is flat and almost entirely made-up of good quality paths with one fairly short stretch of grass. The run starts and finishes in Exhibition Park, with most of the course set-out around the adjoining town moor.

More than 900 runners had signed up to run the Alnwick event and all were automatically given a place in the run. Entry is now closed for the event.

Participants are encouraged to arrive an hour before the run and there will be a stretch and warm-up at around 10.30am.
