AN Alnwick man proved he had the bottle at this year's London Marathon while raising money for a cancer charity.
Barry Eastham, 35, of Fairfields, ran the marathon on Sunday, completing the 26-mile course in three hours and 54 minutes.

Feel Good Drinks company challenged Barry to run the gruelling race in a giant juice bottle costume and offered to match his fund-raising pound for pound.

As the first person ever to wear the Feel Good Drinks suit, Barry was raising money for Beating Bowel Cancer and has raised about £1,300 for the charity.

This was the fourth time he has taken part in a marathon and it was his second London Marathon.

He wanted to beat his personal best of two hours 59 minutes but with bad weather and a heavy suit it wasn't possible.

He said: "It was OK then after about 10 miles there was a massive downpour, it was a bit of a relief."

He added: "I am in the middle of training for the Ironman competition in Switzerland in July and I wanted to do the marathon to judge my time."

In the Ironman competition Barry will have to complete a three kilometre swim, 112 miles of cycling and a marathon.

Barry can normally be found as a service manager at Cookswell Garage in Pegswood.
