THE curtain has been raised on a new darts league.
Ten teams locked horns last Friday in the opening round of games in the newly-formed Alnwick Premier Darts League.

And there were opening-night wins for Alnmouth Village, the John Bull Inn and the Alnwick Arms. There were also triumphs for Alnwick Town A and Football Club B.

Kevin Fletcher, of Alnwick Town A, scored the league's first 180 during the football club's 6-1 win over Alnwick Golf Club.

And, in good spirit, members of the Fleece Inn were in fancy dress for their clash against Alnwick Arms.

Tomorrow's second round of matches sees Alnwick Town A host the Queens Head while opening-day pace setters Football Club B travel to the Farriers. The Alnwick Arms are at home to the John Bull Inn and the Market Tavern entertain the Fleece. In the battle of the golf clubs, Alnwick host Alnmouth Village.
