Thursday, July 10: Roald Dahl's Jack & The Beanstalk – Rock Hall School. Pupils from the school performing some of the author's revolting rhymes with sparkly music and all the usual heroes and gruesome characters. 6.30pm. Tickets £6, conc £5.

Friday, July 11 & Saturday, July 12: Dance Showcase – Alnwick Academy of Dancing; An entertaining showcase of music, song and dance performed by the senior members and some junior members of the academy. 7.30pm. Tickets £7, conc £6.

Monday, July 14: Nim's Island (cert U). Adventure film for children. 4.30pm. Tickets £5, conc £4.50.

Thursday, July 17, & Saturday, July 19: Festival of Choral Music. A celebration of choral talent featuring The Duke's Middle School Choir, The King's Men, Alnwick Boys' Choir, The Duchess's High School Choir and The Rock Festival Choir on Thursday while on Saturday the line-up comprises Alnwick Community Choir, Seahouses Middle School Choir, The Duchess's Girls' Ensemble, The Rock Festival Choir and The King's Men. 7.30pm. Thursday, July 10: Berwick Middle School presents Shakespeare 4 Kidz, The Tempest. This production, the fifth Shakespeare 4 Kidz by the school, promises a magical, musical, romantic comedy of revenge, a father's love for his daughter and the misuse of power. The school promises to blow up a storm 'such stuff as dreams are made of', making their version of Shakespeare's last play unmissable. 7pm. £6/£4.50 conc.

Saturday, July 12: Happy-Go-Lucky (cert 12A; 112mins). Poppy is a 30-year-old teacher living in North London. She has great friends, a job she loves and a full life. As life throws its harsh realities at her, she meets them head on. Can she keep her happiness through the rough and tumble? 7:30pm. £4.50.

Sunday, July 13: Musicians' Open Mic/Open Art. Try out your musical skills in front of a live audience or indulge in art. 7.30pm, admission is free.

Wednesday, July 16 and Thursday, July 17: Holy Trinity First School presents its Summer Show. Another outstanding production from those talented children at Holy Trinity. The whole school, around 170 children, is involved. Early booking is advised as this show is bound to sell out. 7pm. £6/£4.50 conc.

Alnwick Sightseeing Tour. Open-top vintage bus tour of Alnwick town and its beautiful surrounding countryside. 35-40 minute tour with detailed live commentary.
