Thursday, September 11: The Move – featuring Trevor Burton and Bev Bevan. Formed by Ace Kefford and Trevor Burton, The Move became one of the best and most significant bands of the late 60s. Their singles included Blackberry Way and Night Of Fear. 7.30pm. Tickets £16.50, £15.50 conc.

Friday, September 12: Hic! or The Entire History of Wine (abridged). A lighthearted history of wine and wine-making, informative and entertaining, brought dramatically to life by a wealth of anecdotes and quotations from wine lovers both real and fictitious. Written and performed by British actor Julian Curry. The performance is followed by a wine-tasting event. 7.30pm. Tickets: £14, £13 conc show & wine-tasting event. Saturday, September 13: Edith Piaf: A celebration of a legend - with Tina May and her musicians. Worldwide acclaimed vocalist Tina May brings to life the music of France's most beloved entertainer. 7.30pm. Tickets: £16, £15 conc.

Sunday, September 14: Studio Jazz. The first of a series of occasional jazz club evenings in the NTC Studio Theatre at The Playhouse featuring host seven-piece band All That Jazz under the direction of Ray Thompson. 8pm. Tickets: £6, £5 conc.

Tuesday, September 16: Country Voices – Northumberland Theatre Company. An engaging comedy drama from the NTC. A feast of stories, some hilarious, some tragic, breathing life back into the words, songs and stories of a Northumbrian farming family and a way of life lost in the wake of the First World War. 7.30pm. Wednesday, September 17: These Things Do Happen – NTC. Winner of London Weekend Television Plays on Stage Award, this is the companion piece to Country Voices (Sept 16). An honest, affectionate and often hilarious close-up of farming life in Northumberland in the 1930s and 1940s, narrated by a tractor! 7.30pm. Tickets: £11, £10 conc.

Thursday, September 18: Female Agents (Les Femmes de l'Ombre) (15, 120min). Gripping classic style war thriller set in 1944. Starring Sophie Marceau, Laura Smet, Julie Depardieu, Maya Sansa, and Moritz Bleibtreu. French film with English subtitles. 7.30pm. Tickets: £5, £4.50 conc.

Saturday, September 13: Bamburgh Show. The annual community celebration takes place at The Pavilion beneath Bamburgh Castle. It features flowers, cookery and all the usual sections as well as a pet show. Children's activities start at 1pm. Viewing of exhibits in The Pavilion from 2pm. Saturday, September 13: Marine Mammals/Birds of North Sea. A four to five-hour boat trip from Seahouses (no landing) looking for seals, cetaceans and birds with the Northumbria Mammal Group. Saturday, September 13: Longframlington and Brinkburn Show. This show, still going after more than 25 years, features classes for fruit, vegetables, flowers, cookery, handicraft and photography. Saturday, September 13: Holy Island Autumn Day Tours. Autumn is the best season for seeing birds on the island. On a typical day tour you should see large numbers of waders and duck, the only flock of pale-bellied Brent geese on the British mainland. £50pp for a full day's guided birdwatching and afternoon tea. SIGHTSEEING

Alnwick Sightseeing Tour. Open-top vintage bus tour of Alnwick town and its beautiful surrounding countryside. 35-40 minute tour with detailed live commentary. Alnwick Playhouse. Bolwell Andrews Retrospective. Until Saturday, September 27. This exhibition hopes to capture some of the highlights of Bolwell's time in Northumberland as a tribute to a friend of many and a past chairman of the Alnwick District Arts Association.

WALKS

Sunday, September 14: Charity Walks. Walks to raise funds for NSPCC Childline. Four walks in the Northumberland National Park. The first is a strenuous 12-mile challenge. Entry £7.50, registration times 9am-11am. The second is a 6-mile intermediate. Entry £5 or £10 per family (2 adults and 2 children) registration times, 9am-1pm. Also two short, easy walks around Wooler Common. Entry £5 per family, registration times 9am-1.30pm grade. All registrations at the Cheviot Centre, Padgepool Place, Wooler. All walks end there too.
