Road safety, Wagonway Road.
I wish to acknowledge that when a pedestrian was knocked down opposite the Co-op on Wagonway Road it was Coun Gordon Castle who responded immediately and called the relevant officers from the county council to try to find a solution to the conflict between delivery lorries, cars, pedestrians at this point.
To succeed, any such scheme must have the backing of both local county councillors, the town council and local residents to gain sufficient points in the scoring system to rise up the local transport plan.
In May, Coun Castle and I pledged to work together for the people of Alnwick, Lesbury and Alnmouth. Coun Castle has been generous in so doing.
I am totally committed to all efforts to increase road safety and promote walking and cycling within the town.
