Why oppose badger cull?

About 37,000 cattle were slaughtered last year because they were suspected of being infected by bovine TB.

No badgers were killed.

Badgers are suspected of helping the spread of TB among cattle but a proposed experimental cull in two limited areas of circa 5,000 is opposed by some. I just don’t understand the opposition.

Are these badgers more important?
