Volcano Night flaming great

The Alnmouth Volcano Night organised by the River Aln Boat Club was once again a great success this year.

Twenty-nine teams took part in the competition on Saturday, August 16, to build a sandcastle, light a fire on top and see whose fire would last the longest as the tide came in and £290 was raised for charity.

The proceeds are to be split equally between the RNLI at Amble and the Alnmouth Bay Community Rowing Association, which is a community group presently engaged in building a rowing skiff soon to be launched at Alnmouth.

Many thanks to all those who gave up their time to support the event, both organisers and competitors alike.
