At the annual fund-raising dinner/dance of the Warkworth and Amble District Royal British Legion held on June 1, at the Sun Hotel, Warkworth, the evening raised the fantastic total of £655 for the Poppy Appeal.

The branch would like to thank the musicians from Alnwick Playhouse who donated their time to entertain us, local businesses and members who donated raffle and auction prizes, including the Duchess of Northumberland, our Royal British Legion Northumbria Patron.

Our chairman, Jeff Watson thanked everyone attending the dinner for supporting the Royal British Legion, the UK’s leading charity providing direct practical help, advice and welfare to the serving and ex service community of all ages.

Our Armed Forces experience casualties almost every week.

The Royal British Legion also wholly maintains the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire to maintain the memory of those who have given their lives in the service of their country.

Please support the Poppy Appeal.

June Watson,

Secretary, Warkworth and Amble Royal British Legion
